Single Armor WTC™
(SJSA-WTC™)

SJSA-WTC™ uses a single-jacket (sheath) structure instead of conventional double-jacket (sheath) structure. We achieved a lightweight optical fiber cable with a world-class small diameter.
It can be used in environments where mechanical strength is required, such as along railway tracks, buried directly in the soil, and in rural/underground areas where there is a risk of wildlife damage by rodents.

As the data traffic continues to increase globally, urban areas are reaching saturation in available space for cable installation.
SJSA-WTC™ enables to more efficiently build telecommunication networks in underground areas of urban regions and utilize
the railway networks connecting cities and achieve the expansion and improvement of communication services in rural areas.

Structure of SJSA-WTC™

Feature 1. Small diameter, lightweight

■Single-jacket structure achieved approximately 31% reduction in cross-sectional area and 25% weight reduction compared to
    conventional double-jacket products.

Feature 2. Improved workability

■The accessibility to optical fibers from cables by removing jacket is greatly improved compared to existing products.

Feature 3. Mechanical strength

■Achieved high density without compromising the required mechanical strength (tensile strength, bending strength, and so on)
    by design optimization.
■Suitable for installation in environments requiring mechanical strength, including railway tracks, buried directly in the soil, and
in rural/underground areas where there is a risk of wildlife damage by rodents.

Application

■Duct
■Direct buried
