Fujikura has released a leading-edge cut-off shifted fiber that is optimized to digital-coherent transmission in long-haul terrestrial networks – FutureGuide™-HSC-125, which fully complies with ITU-T G.654.E (issued in March 2020).
FutureGuide™HSC-125 has extremely reduced attenuation which enables to obtain more network-designing margin, thus allowing many advantages such as advanced modulation format, extension of network spans, improvement of OSNR gain etc.
Another noteworthy feature of FutureGuide™HSC-125 is specially optimized MFD (Effective area) which suppresses signal degradation owing to reduced power density in a fiber core. .
As the combination of the above features, FutureGuide™-HSC-125 will provide various benefits for terrestrial long-haul networks such as higher transmission capacity, network system design flexibility and cost-effective implementation.
