ITU-T G.655.C/D
FutureGuide™- LA

FutureGuide™-LA is a "Large effective-Area (LA)" type of NZDSF, complying with ITU-T G.655.C/D recommendation. This fiber is intended to focus its design on reduction of the non-linear effects by having larger effective area rather than smaller chromatic dispersion.

Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) system has penetrated widely from 1990s. NZDSF (Non-Zero Dispersion Shifted Fiber) is the fiber having larger effective area with non-zero dispersion characteristics in operation wavelength range to reduce non-linear effects which cause signal deterioration in high bit-rate DWDM transmission.
There are several types of NZDSF products in relation to suitable application types (e.g., bitrate, distance etc.). FutureGuide™-LA is a “Large effective-Area (LA)” type of NZDSF, complying with ITU-T G.655.C/D recommendation. This fiber is intended to focus its design on reduction of the non-linear effects by having larger effective area rather than smaller chromatic dispersion. Since the reduction of non-linear effects becomes more important in high bit-rate transmission systems, the LA type is more suitable for such systems than other types and stands on the top dominant type of NZDSF in the world.
