Fujikura recommend to clean v-groove and fiber clamp chips periodically, because dust on v-groove or fiber clamp chips may attach to fiber or influence to motion for splicing fiber, and it may result in high splice loss.

Timing or Frequency to clean v-groove and fiber clamp chips

Recommended frequency to clean: Every day

But if below symptom occur, please clean v-groove and fiber clamp.

1. Fiber position is shifted from center after fiber gapset.
2. “ZL/ZR motor overrun error” occur.

1. Cleaning v-groove and fiber clamp by cotton swab with alcohol.

2. If it is difficult to remove the dust on v-groove, cleaved fiber may remove the dust easily.
